Living in Catta Verdera means I get to experience one of Lincoln’s most beautiful neighborhoods every day. And just next door is a community that feels like a permanent vacation: Sun City Lincoln Hills. I’ve spent years walking those trails, showing homes there, and watching my sons golf the fairways. If you’ve ever wondered what life inside Sun City Lincoln Hills is really like, here’s a local’s perspective.
A Community with a Pulse
Sun City Lincoln Hills is a 55+ active adult community built by Del Webb that’s about as close to “resort living” as you can get without leaving your hometown. It’s not gated, but it still feels private, peaceful, and incredibly well cared for. The streets are wide and tree-lined, the landscaping is mature, and the neighbors actually know each other.
With over 6,700 homes, it’s large enough to offer every amenity imaginable, yet still small enough that you’ll see familiar faces at the gym, the restaurant, or the clubhouse.
Resort-Style Amenities
What makes Sun City Lincoln Hills special isn’t just the homes, it’s the lifestyle that comes with them. The community is centered around two stunning lodge campuses:
- Orchard Creek Lodge – the social hub of the community, featuring an indoor and outdoor pool, fitness center, full-service spa, ballroom, and the Meridians Restaurant & Bar.
- Kilaga Springs Lodge – home to a second fitness center, day spa, and the Kilaga Springs Café, plus classrooms, meeting spaces, and a full workshop for art, ceramics, and woodworking.
Beyond the lodges, residents enjoy:
- Tennis, pickleball, and bocce ball courts
- Miles of scenic walking and biking trails
- Beautifully maintained parks and nature preserves
- Indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs
- Performance and event spaces for concerts and dances
- Over 75 clubs and special interest groups—from fitness and arts to social, hobby, and volunteer clubs
- On-site day spa services and community-led fitness programs
It’s the kind of place where staying active feels easy, and social connection happens naturally.
Clubs That Bring People Together
With more than 75 active clubs, there’s something here for everyone, whether you’re looking to stay fit, get creative, or meet new friends.
- The Lincoln Hills Pickleball Club is one of the most popular in the region, offering beginner lessons, open play, and community tournaments.
- The Tennis Group plays on nine beautiful courts (seven lighted) and hosts social matches and competitive play throughout the week.
- The Bird Group gathers regularly for local walks and regional field trips, perfect for nature lovers who enjoy the area’s open spaces and wetlands.
- The Writers Club offers a supportive community for anyone who loves storytelling, journaling, or simply sharing personal experiences.
These are just a few of the 75+ clubs available in the community, each offering a new way to connect, learn, and stay active.
Homes and Floor Plans for Every Lifestyle
The homes in Sun City Lincoln Hills were designed for comfort, flow, and single-level living. Floor plans generally range from 900 to over 3,000 square feet, depending on the model.
You can explore community maps, homeowner resources, and official floor plan PDFs directly through the Sun City Lincoln Hills HOA site.
Golf That Brings Everyone Together
One of the biggest draws here is the Lincoln Hills Golf Club, featuring two championship 18-hole courses—the Hills Course and the Orchard Course—both designed by Billy Casper and Greg Nash.
The courses are publicly accessible, so even though Sun City Lincoln Hills isn’t gated, it still offers an elevated golf experience for residents and locals alike. Fairways weave through rolling hills, wetlands, and open space, with Sierra foothill views that make every round memorable.
My sons play here regularly, and it’s one of our favorite family activities. The driving range and practice greens are great for all skill levels, and it’s always fun to grab lunch afterward at Meridians Restaurant overlooking the course.
Youth on Course: Making Golf Affordable for the Next Generation
A lot of people don’t realize that Lincoln Hills Golf Club participates in Youth on Course , a national nonprofit that makes golf more accessible for kids and teens.
Through Youth on Course, players ages 6–18 can play rounds at participating courses for $5 or less, depending on the day and tee time. The program also offers scholarships, mentorships, and even summer internships for members who want to build a future in the game.
For families in Lincoln and the surrounding area, it’s a perfect way to introduce younger players to golf without breaking the bank. My sons joined through the Northern California region, and they’ve been able to play at Lincoln Hills for a fraction of normal rates, all while building real friendships on the course.
More Than Just a Neighborhood
Sun City Lincoln Hills has a rhythm all its own. You’ll see early-morning walkers with coffee cups in hand, neighbors gathering for pickleball matches, and friends lingering over dinner on the restaurant patio after a round of golf.
It’s the kind of community that blends peace and connection, a slower pace without ever feeling quiet.
And for those of us living nearby in Catta Verdera, it’s nice knowing that this lifestyle is right next door. Whether you’re retired, working remotely, or just planning ahead, Sun City Lincoln Hills is proof that the best part of life doesn’t have to feel far away.
