If you have been to one of my open houses lately, you have probably heard parents asking about the new high school boundaries in the Western Placer Unified School District. I hear you. I am raising eight kids here. Six of my eight kids have already been raised in WPUSD. I have homeschooled, I have helped with co enrollment at Sierra College, and I have watched my older kids graduate from Lincoln High School and Twelve Bridges High School. Education is a real passion for me. I also earned my degree from Sierra College in communications with a minor in marketing, so I care deeply about clear information that helps families make smart choices.
My local perspective as a parent in WPUSD
Our family has lived the school journey in Placer County. Some of my kids loved modern labs and science electives. Others lit up in hands on programs and on the school farm. We have had great experiences at both high schools. Classes like Forensics and Dance did not even exist back when I was at Casa Roble, and I am grateful my kids had those options.
Why school boundaries change in Western Placer Unified
Boundaries shift when the community grows, when new homes fill campuses, and when the district balances class sizes so teachers can teach. New programs also launch and the district adjusts feeder paths to support them. Because boundaries can change over time, always confirm your address before you write an offer.
What changed for some Lincoln families
Some streets that expected the Twelve Bridges path are now assigned to Lincoln High School. That can feel frustrating when you planned for years. I understand. My goal here is not to take sides. My goal is to give you the steps and tools to make the best choice for your student.

Step by step directions to verify a boundary
- Open the WPUSD District Boundaries page. Click Find Your School by Address.
- Type the full street address. Include city and zip for best results.
- Review the pop up box that shows the assigned elementary, middle, and high school.
- Click the map layers icon to toggle different boundary layers if you want a wider view.
- Download the High School Boundary Map PDF for a zoomed out look at the whole district.
- Check the Enrollment and Transfers page for notes about future year changes and transfer windows. The link is on the same hub.
- If your closing or move overlaps a change year, email the district office with your address and expected move date. Save the reply for your records.
Lincoln High School and Twelve Bridges High School compared
Twelve Bridges High School feels new and modern. It offers a Biomedical pathway that fits students who are excited about health and science. Lincoln High School has deep roots and community pride. It offers a large Agriculture program with FFA that is perfect for students who love animals, plants, engines, or floral design. Ratings on public sites are only one piece of the picture. Ratings change, and the details behind the numbers matter. Visit the campus, read the program pages, and picture your teen in those classrooms.
If your student wants a specific pathway
If your teen wants Biomedical at Twelve Bridges or Agriculture at Lincoln High, there is a simple plan. Verify your current assignment with the address tools. Talk with your counselor about intradistrict transfers. Pay attention to priority windows and space limits. Share why the pathway matters to your student. Create a backup plan in case seats are full, such as starting strong science or ag courses at the assigned school and applying again next window. Many families follow this path and it works well with patience and planning.

When a home catches your eye, verify the address again on the district site and tour the campus if you can. If we go into escrow during a change year, we will confirm with the district in writing and keep that email with your closing documents.
