Why Families Love Pumpkin Patches in Sacramento & Placer County

Calendar of the best times to visit the Pumpkin Patch in Sacramento and Placer County Areas.

One of the best parts about living in the Sacramento and Placer County area is how much there is to do as a family, especially in the fall. Having raised eight kids in Orangevale and Fair Oaks and now living in Lincoln, I’ve had the joy of exploring nearly every pumpkin patch in the area. Hence, each one holds special memories for us, from toddlers toddling through pumpkin rows to teens getting “lost” in corn mazes. I am ready to share the best pumpkin patches we have found with you!

As a local Realtor, I love sharing what makes our community such a wonderful place to live. If you’re considering making Lincoln, Loomis, Granite Bay, or any of our surrounding neighborhoods your home, you’ll quickly see how family-friendly our region is. Here are my favorite pumpkin patches — mom-tested, kid-approved, and perfect for making memories this season.

Loomis Pumpkin Patches

Little Field Farms
📍 9000 Horseshoe Bar Rd, Loomis, CA 95650
loomislittlefieldfarms.com
This one is a must-do in Loomis. Their corn maze is big enough to keep my kids entertained for hours, and the pumpkin launcher always draws a crowd. The pumpkins are grown right there on the farm, and the setting makes for great family photos.

The Flower Farm Pumpkin Patch
📍 4150 Auburn Folsom Rd, Loomis, CA 95650
theflowerfarm.net
This spot feels more relaxed, especially with a boutique farm vibe. I love their “Harvest Days” with local vendors, it’s the perfect outing if you want something low-key, artistic, and charming.

Granite Bay Pumpkin Patch

Rickey Ranch Pumpkin Farm
📍 6950 Cavitt Stallman Rd, Granite Bay, CA 95746
visitplacer.com/rickey-ranch-pumpkin-farm
Rickey Ranch is small but full of personality. My kids always head straight to the horse rides and hay pyramid, while I love their whimsical skeleton displays on old tractors. It’s free to visit, which makes it extra family-friendly.

Folsom Pumpkin Patch

Zittel Farms
📍 6781 Oak Ave, Folsom, CA 95630
Zittel Farms Facebook
Since 1929, Zittel Farms has been a local tradition. While it doesn’t have rides or mazes, it’s packed with charm, farm-fresh produce, gourds, flowers, and pumpkins. It’s a quick, convenient stop with plenty of old-fashioned fall charm.

Roseville Pumpkin Patch

Mike Shellito “Floating Pumpkin Patch”
📍 10210 Fairway Dr, Roseville, CA 95678
Instead of wandering a field, kids swim to their pumpkins in the pool! It’s different, fun, and memorable, a unique Roseville tradition for families looking to try something out-of-the-box.

Wheatland Pumpkin Patch

Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm
📍 1415 Pumpkin Ln, Wheatland, CA 95692
bishopspumpkinfarm.com
This is the “Disneyland” of pumpkin patches — from pig races to zip lines, caramel apples to train rides. The apple cider donuts alone are worth the trip! With so many attractions, it’s an all-day adventure that appeals to every age.

Why I Share This

For me, pumpkin patches aren’t just about pumpkins. They’re about community, family traditions, and the joy of raising kids in a place that feels like home. That’s why I love living and working here as a Realtor — because I get to help other families find not just a house, but a neighborhood where they can make their own memories.

If you’re thinking about buying or selling a home in Lincoln, Loomis, Granite Bay, Orangevale, Fair Oaks, or the surrounding areas, I’d love to share more about what makes each community special.
